Most likely mono, but really whatever is a high bc bullet that i can confirm with others still expands at the slower speeds expected.

It is hard to beat the Berger 170 BC for your 1:8.5" barrel. For mono to have the same BC, it is going to be a lot longer,

Yeah, I hear you they're. I was trying to split the difference somewhere with the standard 130gr and the 170eol. I haven't punched anything in on starting speed of the 170 out of a 18" tube. But I would imagined I'd be pushing it to come out of the pipe at 2600.
The Nosler 160 grain Partition was made to stabilize in the typical 1 in 10 twist of most .270 Win rifles, but it isn't a very aerodynamic bullet.
Try the 150 Berger Hybrid which still has a decent BC. I just received some to test in my 6.8 Western I'm building.

If needed you can use some jewelers bits and open up the tips .002-.003 and adjust BC by about the same. I did this on the 144 Hybrid in my 65PRC

Run your numbers with the 170 and see if it meets your goal.

I'm coming up with vel/energy at 450 of 1997fps/1505ftlbs and 600yds is 1814fps/1242ftlbs leaving the muzzle at 2600. Still decent numbers of that bullet would open up at 1800.
I think the 155 Barnes will not work in your rifle very well. You will have some issues with stability as Barnes states requires twist rate is 1/8. Also being a long bullet, even longer than the 170 EH, you may get restricted on keeping the velocity up due to case powder fill also. The Berger Hybrid should work well as they're very insensitive to seating depth. I jump the 144 in my 65PRC and also jump the 170EH in my 270WSM quite a bit. Both over .070 of jump. I'm not an owner of a Tikka, but if I'm not mistaken the action on their short mag is longer than on a 700 shorty? If that's the case you may be able to load the 170 longer and if wanted add a little length to the throat of your chamber for some added Freebore. I built my 270WSM on a long action with .200 Freebore and am able to push the 170 around 3kFPS. My COAL on the 170EH is 3.12 running 67 Grains of Retumbo with ADG brass. Super accurate load.

Your right on the bergers, much like a eldx, jump/freebore doesn't seem to be as important. I may save myself some struggle by not "trying to make the lrx bullet work" rather use a berger and decide what weight to use after i see velocity. The 170EOL does carry some pretty impressive numbers to 650 starting out at 2600fps which is best i anticipate.
There's your answer; no need to overcomplicate it unnecessarily.
Don't be afraid to reach out to a competent Smith either as it's very easy for them to use a uni-throater to add some additional Freebore. I don't remember what you said your barrel length is. My 270WSM is 22" for that info I shared above with you.

145 eldx out 25inch 270win. 1:10 twist.
I have not reloaded it yet. Hornady precision hunter shoots a .65 group at 2980 fps. Not sure I can beat it.
