If you are having high ES, my first thought is that the chosen powder is not providing good case fill. I would think a bulkier, slower burn rate powder would be best. Thinks like H4350 and RL17 work well in WSM cartridges (short and fat).
I would think RL22, 23, 33, H1000, even Retumbo might work. I use Rl22 in 25-06 and 7 mag with good success.
You also could use a plaster vibrator (hobby shops have them for getting rid of bubbles in plaster) these will settle a full case of powder down to below the shoulder depending on grain size and length and get you the densest powder column mitigating powder crunching considerably. JM
