I saw in the Berger Reloading Manual that they have loads using the 95gr. and H1000 powder for the .243

Any one with knowleged using this combination or has anyone used H1000 in their .243 or .243 AI?? lightbulb I was kind of caught off guard as I thought H1000 was for the big stuff.

I have found that a 243 loves a slow powder. I have used 7828 with good results and the current load is wth RL22.If you have some on hand ,try it.

I have no experience with a 243AI.

Thats encouraging ..........................I bought some yesterday, was the only powder they had on hand.

Thanks so much for the feed back I needed your imput!!

Your right ....................The Berger Manual show 48.3 with the 95gr and 104% of capacity........................Im sure they are not getting into any pressure signs.........................

I use 47.0 Grains of H1000 with 105 Berger VLD in a 243 with a Brux 1-7.5

twist barrel. I get 2975 fps with exceellent accuracy.

Thats with the standard .243? Im going to try some 105 A-Max as they are suppose to work with the 1x9 I will start with 47.0 gr in my .243 AI and work up from there....................I appreciate your reply its encouraging.
I read on one web sight that one shooter found that H1000 was the best powder he found for his .243..

Its funny that on one ever mentioned H1000 as a .243 Powder when asked..........................sometimes it helps to think outside of the box

I'm running H1000 in my 6mm SLR, with the 105's and they're running 3050 in rem brass, 210M primers and 47.4grns. There is no pressure signs and it shoots excellent. Give it a try, you might like it. I know i do.

6mm SLR..................what case it that based on?

I loaded up some 95gr's in my .243 AI tonight.................48.0gr starting up to 52.0gr..............We will see.

Its a 243 with the shoulder pushed back to 30 degrees and a by doing that increases the neck length, allowing better seating of those long bullets.
go to 6mmar.com and take a look. It has slightly less case capacity of a standard 243 but velocities of a 243ai without messing with fireforming.

I shoot a 6mm Competition Match, which is similar to a 243 AI. Loading a Berger 105 Hunting VLD with 49.2 grs. of H1000 out of a 28" Kreiger 7.5 barrel @ 3205fps.

Hey Ron, I don't have my new 6mm Competition Match barrel screwed on yet, but I'm shooting my .243 28" x-Caliber. I have 670 rounds down it using a 105 Hornaday bthp, 49.9 grains H1000, fps 3153. Very accurate....
