Griz attack

Bear saavy is missing not sure why. Know where you are and understand the risks you are in. Having spray does not mean you are protected walking a trail alone in dark in grizz country. Terrible tragedy but preventable IMO. I would be walking with air horn blowing to announce to the world I am walking out after dark. Prob get attacked for making too much noise. The desire to watch a sunset should have included self risk assessment that was realistic recognizing in grizz country. Still horrible to think what this person went thru in a minute or less. Dang

...bet it's not going to be long before pressure to get control of population doesn't force a limited number of tags in about 4 or 5 states, now that will be one heck of a once in a lifetime tag...man they could raise a few hundred thousand dollars for a highest bidder tag which could be used to improve habitat for all game.

It's a pretty disturbing account. I was certainly glad I didn't see one griz on my trip to Yellowstone on a bucket list fly fishing trip. The bears were finding moths more delicious than me. Way up higher in the alpine areas I heard.
They get up above tree line and pull over rocks to get the moths. There's a couple particular areas they like best.

They are only in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and some in northern Washington.
Delisting is coming. The right people are in office. Trump. Secretary of the Interior Doug Beugum former North Dakota Governor. Brain Nesvic Head of USFW former head of Wyoming Game and Fish dept. Both our Senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lumis and congresswoman Harriet Hageman are all for delisting as well as new head of Game and Fish Angi Bruce. They already have the regulations for the hunt in place. Grizzlies were delisted already twice in 2007 and 2017. Both times overturned by Federal Judges that weren't even from states that have Grizzlies. By the 9th Circuit liberal Court. Wyoming is in the 10th Circuit Court. Don't know how that works.
So most likely a California judge. Go figure...

Yeah, this the best part:

"this means that bears concentrating on these sites during the summer aren't down in the valleys getting into trouble" (eating Bob)
For sure but I dont thnk all go up high. I don't have photo anymore but a buddy was fishing North Fork of Shoshone River by Pahaska near Park boundary and a grizz came within 15 yards and stared at him. He had pistol pulled. Maybe begging for a fish. It turned and left.
Reminds me of a funny I have on my frig. I'll take a pic of.
