I have no idea what that coating is but it makes the revolvers look cheap to me.

Are you going to have it refinished afterwards?

I would call a premier Cerakote applicator and discuss this with them. That will kill two birds with one stone, remove original finish and apply the new one.

I've read that Flitz Metal polish can remove the grey finish. Could anyone please confirm this for me?
