Hey guys, does anyone have any special drills/tricks for getting used to a new rifle? After load development, what comes next? All of my training has started with dry fire drills and the crawl-walk-run idea, and I was wondering if this applies to the long range shooting community. I have shot quite a bit, but have never really developed a training plan in preperation for PRS or Hunting application.

Hello,

No I am not. I have a couple former USN EOD guys that work for me.
Are you with the Nighthawks?

Someone in your unit has more than likely been to the Marksmanship Master Trainer Course and can provide you all the lessons you want to learn.

You may also want to find a good POC for 3rd Batt, 1st Group to help you.

As active Army EOD you have some of the best instructors in the USA at your disposal.

Thanks,
THEIS

I actually have a few buddies at 1st Group, so I'll make sure to shoot them a call next time I'm home. The Navy guys are a special breed, but great guys. My shop doesn't have many shooters, but I'm in contact with a few sniper sections here in Europe. I really just need to get home and get my own guns in my hands.
