GAP - What's it stand for?

Someone just posted a GAP rifle for sale calling it "Georgia Precision". The GAP website says "GA" stands for gnats ***. Was it ever Georgia or is that a misnomer?

Check out the GAP website. They refer to it as Gnats ***.
