I know there are other places to write reviews on products sold by LRH Stores, but I add this here because on the prairie is where I've had problems with range finders.

I've had range finders before, I wont name them, some good some bad, even a well known brand good for 1200 years.

In the mountains they work sometimes. But on the Wyoming prairies for some reason I'm lucky to get any to range past 3-400 yards.

After last years hunt I decided to bite the bullet. I liked the reviews I read on the G7 so ordered one from the LRH Store. I've played with it, found the Ballistic Program to be accurate with my rifle/ammo combos. I've also ranged cows beyond the 2000 yard advertised range (my first attempt was 2287 yards on the neighbor's cow.

Yesterday was my first attempt with the G7 hunting on the prairie. About an hour after first shooting light I spotted this critter, The G7 told me it was 637 yards and I needed to come up 13.5 min. from my zero. Did that, added a bit of windage, got a good prone slung position (I don't use bipods), squeezed off a round and down he drops.

I thought I was impressed with the G7 before, but this was my first attempt and using it while hunting. Well worth the price.

I will admit I need to re-think my bullets though. The 270 Hornady 150 IBs work great for elk but are a little too much for antelope. This guy had a pretty good chunk taken out of its spine.
