Other than my original thread on bolt action rifles and commenting on other threads occasionally, I've stayed pretty much out of the discussion, rather staying on the sidelines and examining the issues as they really are...
I've studied the Sandy Hook school killings in detail, comparing news accounts, witness statements, statements from 'professional' people on the scene, video footage, basically everything I can access.
There are so many discrepancies as to what actually occurred and what occurred that I feel the citizens will never know the truth of what actually occurred.
Some glaring contradictions are a statement from a teacher saying she saw multiple 'shadows' of gunmen running down the hallway, the local ME stating that the children were killed with .223 rounds but no rifle was found in the building, only 2 handguns (and we all know that a bottleneck cartridge don't fit in a straight wall chamber)...lol. Then in what I consider a an outright lie perpetrated by the LE on site and the media is the video footage of an officer supposedly clearing an AR found in the trunk of the Honda the shooter drove to school. On close examination of the video, it isn't an AR at all, but rather a pump shotgun. An AR's cocking-decocking lever is under the ejection port, not the fore stock. The officer is racking the fore stock, clearing the rifle of shells....
Of course the general public has no idea of the difference between an AR (assault type rifle) and a pump shotgun, the public will buy into whatever the media and LE tells them, if in fact true or false. That fact has been played out time and time again in recent history. Sadly, we live in a society where the citizens (a large part) need to be led around and spoon fed. They don't have the capabilities of thinking for themselves, or don't want to....
After taking a long look at the whole scenario, It's my opinion that while the children were indeed killed and thats a sad state of affairs. the incident is being used by the Obama administration as a vehicle to dilute the Second Amendment and to orchestrate what amounts to a 'gun grab' perpetrated on the citizens of this country for the sole purpose of disarming the citizens so Obama can advance his agendas unfettered. Obama has stated numerous time in the past that "We need to take full advantage of every crisis". This is one of those situations that is being exploited to the fullest.....

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association of America is made up of over 4 million moms and dads, daughters and sons, who are involved in the national conversation about how to prevent a tragedy like Newton from ever happening again. We attended today's White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals.
We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be "prejudged," this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners - honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans.
It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation's most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works - and what does not.
Pay close attention to what I've bolded in the context. Again, IMO, this amounts to nothing more than a gun grab by the current administration to advance their agenda. Without the ability for citizens to defend themselves against aggression, all is lost. exactly what this administration is desirous of.
I personally feel that we as citizens of the United States will never know what actually occurred in Newton because the facts of the incident have been twisted and manipulated for the sole purpose of advancement of the current administration's. agenda, that is, disarming the citizens and creating a socialist state where the government decides everything for the 'good of the people'. Never forget that.
All of us, as legal firearm owners need to follow Jeff's lead in writing our elected officials and openly (and legally) disapproving, especially disapproving of any dilution of the Constitution or executive order pertaining to the Second Amendment, the First Amendment or the Fourteenth Amendment.
If, this agenda on the part of the current administration becomes law, our sport, our firearms, even this forum will be under attack. There will be no 'freedom of speech'. In fact, forums and interaction such as we have here, will cease to exist because it will be policed and eliminated systematically.
Sound familiar? It should. Hitler perpetrated basically the same scenario on Nazi Germany. Mussolini perpetrated basically the same scenario on the Italians, the list goes on and on. What you need to always keep in mind is that every Socialist utopia has ultimately failed and the citizens have suffered unimaginable grief.
There is a whole lot more to whats occurring than just a gun grab on the part of the Obama administration. It's ultimately about oppression of the citizens, Socialistic agenda and ultimately totarian control.
The current events are just a prelude to the end game, merely a stepping stone for the Obama Administration to advance it's agenda, always keep that in mind....
I beg you all, for the sake of our sport and for the sake of our great country, be as pro-active as legally possible. Talk to everyone you know, both pro firearm and anti firearm alike and explain to them what the end game really is. The only way to defeat this tyrannical approach by the administration to dilute our rights as American Citizens is in solidarity in numbers. Please act and do it now.
We must unite as a whole. I talked earlier on in another post about the 'me' versus 'we' mentality. This has to be a 'we' action. Me has no impact whatsoever and the current administration is counting on the 'me' mentality to prevail on this.
Above all, under no circumstances, become a martyr. Active disobedience will be dealt with swiftly and the consequences of your actions won't be pleasant..
My suggestion is to support the NRA, not because I'm a member but because the NRA is still the largest lobbying body, has the most members and has the means at it's disposal to advance our wishes, that is, for this administration to pursue the obvious choices, choices that don't dilute the very tenants of the Constitution, that is deal with people through the judicial system and mental health and pursue ways of reducing violence perpetrated against children and against all citizens instead of using this incident as a 'gun grab' to advance an agenda..
