Finally retired

I finally retired last Friday after 51 years as a toolmaker machinist
Now comes the fun part

Wow, 51 years - congrats for the long career. I plan on retiring in a few years at 60 so i can enjoy retirement before my body breaks down any more. That will give me about 35 years in my field when I retire.

Congratulations! My wife and I were able to retire in our early 60s. Left California and moved to Utah. We hike, ski, volunteer (me sheriff's office, her church), shoot pistol together, and I hunt (she comes along as a helper and spotter). A very wise friend told me, "Retire as early as you can." Great advice.

Congrats! I retired when I turned 58. My only regret is not retiring sooner. Time flies when you don't have to answer to the man!

I hope that yours works out a little better than mine. I've been retired for about 8 years, I'm in pretty decent shape, not broke……and do less of the things that I enjoy doing than I did when working. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong!
