Favorite powder for 300 win?

Most of my early Hunting was 4350 w/165z
180+ got to sit on top 4831(short cut when it started being made)
The "Original Sniper" configuration was 190z over RL22

& have used it @ Long Range with 215z with very good effect

I've tried most of the powders mentioned by others...7828, H1000, H4831, R22, R26, 4350, and NONE produced the results I expected. Not that the results were all that bad and some were under an inch at 100 yards. However, the one that I settled on that gives consistent .5-.75 results with 180g Accubonds and Partitions is Magnum. I found two nodes, one at about 2950fps and another about 3090fps. Great clean burning powder that meters like water.

Im using h4831sc with the 208 eldm and getting 2750fps. But ive only got an 18" barrel haha. H4831sc would work well with the 180grain pill id say. But with that long tube id use retumbo.

I've never ran light bullets in my 300 Winmag. That said if you step up to 208-230 grain bullets H1000 is kinda the standard. Currently I've changed over to RL26 and 225 ELD-Ms. They're running right at 2950 with no pressure out of a 26" barrel. I'm running them at CIP length though. 3.695" oal.

H4350 & Hybrid 100V will work great for 180 class bullets. H1000 will generally produce better results for bullets over 200 grains.

H1000 with my VZ24 mauser. 26" SS Douglas barrel. I'm limited to COAL because of the action length. So I don't shoot the lnger bullets.​

Another vote for RL23 in the bullet weight range you are looking at.

I prefer heavier bullets in my 300WMs and use H1000/ RL26 but the RL23 worked well for me when I used to shoot 180/190 class bullets.

I'm shooting 83 grains of reloader 25 in mine with 180 gr Speer
grand slam

3 powders stand out with 180gr and heavier pills.
RE25, H1000 & RETUMBO get it done for me. In fact, my go-to load with 180gr Accubonds is 81gr of RE25 @ 3160fps in my 26" barrel.

My .300 WM custom seems too like AR2217 same powder as H1000
under 212grn ELD-X gets 2935 fps seated at 77.10 mm
77.4 grns CCI BR2 shoots real good half inch at 250 yards
more development to go yet

My CZ 550 Magnum LUX .300 WM likes AR2218 with CCI BR 212grn ELDX
2870 fps and a inch at 880 yards as long as I do my part
this one I'm not going to play with any more very happy with the way she shoots

Looking to shoot 180 grain pills out of 28" barrel.
Was going to see what the consensus was.

I've been using the H-1000 @ 79 gr with CCI mag Prim and the 180 gr SPBT Last Elk was at about 800 yds. One shot, one more kill

I am running 73gn h4831sc with 200gn eldx out of 25" barrel and getting 2925fps.

To be fair it's only powder I have ever used
