Expander ball?

LRHWAL,

I'd read that in the past. Next time I'm in need I'll give Forster a call and see what they offer and charge before I spend four evenings wallowing out a standard FL sizing die. Thanks.

you can also turn a regular die into a bushing die by sending it to jlc precision

I just checked the mail. This was in January so is probably quite "current". The query was for a 338-06.

Quote was $90 for the FL sizer, $83 for a "std" BR Seater....

Outside neck turning is a lot easier and you can adjust your neck thickness to your die rather than adjusting your die to your neck thickness.

Woods, I hear you, but for some of us taking $10 out of our pocket to pay for honing a die is easier than turning a couple of hundred cases over the lifetime of a barrel... :D

I've never honed a die and neck turn lightly, but mainly for consistency and probably beacuse of where I am, but if it was as easy as posting the die off with a check and if my brass was perfect out of the box, I'd do it.

Guys choose reamers based on cases they use, why not dies?

But yes, I suppose it depends on how we choose to do what we want to achieve...
