My best bud who wasn't up to hunting much last year but got dressed to help me track a buck I arrowed wee bit back. I decided to let him go over night since he ran into nasty Tamarack swamp. We were able to track in some of the worse tracking conditions I ever experienced snd got him! The joy on his face was beyond anyone's understanding. But I knew why. So finally finished up the Euro mount and it is on my office wall. I always place a photo with the mount as visual reminder of the hunt. This photo is both of us with my hand on his shoulder and buck is in friends Argo that came to rescue so we didn't have to drag!! This is my homage to my best bud.

Friends, I just got the dreaded text from my pal's wife. He is in hospital failing fast. Expect to be in hospice in couple days. Had lunch with him last week and I could see the time was coming fast. He is my age, hunting and fishing pard. Even when you know what is coming, the arrival is still extremely difficult to accept. You don't get to have many friends that are brothers and share the same love for the same things in life. I will truly miss him, he is such a great friend.
Please add my friend to your prayers for a blessed journey to his next life.

My friend you are correct that everyday is a Blessing. Prayers for your friend.
I just got news that my best friend since we were 11 years old had chest pains. Went to the Hospital and he has 90% blockage and they don't know if the heart specialist can fix it due to the damage.
You just never know when it is your time so make sure that you have Jesus in your HEART!

Prayer sent for your friend and as you say a Brother. What a Blessing to know that I don't have to know him. The Holy Spirit is interceding on my behalf for him to an Almighty God.
I read the obituaries every week and think that some died way to early and some had a nice long stay.
One thing that never dies is the memories of those that has died.As long as I am breathing they are alive in my memories.
The kind of memories we leave behind is important,I hope to leave good memories.

With more yesterdays than tomorrows a bad heart and broken down back I wake every morning wondering where I am I waking up?
But thanks for the reminder.
You too will be with them when it's your time, I have read a pile of books on near death experiences where people have gone home and not one of them wants to come back here, not one, it is truly amazing what they describe. Always treasure the memories of friends and savor them over and over
