I have done quite a bit of load development with 175 7mm and 212 30 nosler. All I did was give up on the eldx and switch to 180 and 215 burgers and quickly found 1/2 moa. I recently purchased a 300prc and factory loads might get 1moa....maybe. I also have some custom ADG loads with 215 Hybrids. These give 1/2 moa all day. I would prefer to shoot the eldx, so what am I missing? Are these bullets just not consistent? Is seating depth tricky to find? I am lost.
Any advise is very appreciated!

My 6.5 x 284 Norma does not like Hornady bullets either. The only thing different in these two loads is the projectile.

I've had great luck with 300 WM and 212 ELDx, but this rifle hated 215 Bergers for some reason. My 300 NM lover 215s 😵‍💫 Let the barrel tell your where to go. Good luck.

Let the barrel tell ya what it likes!
I tried several different powders with the 212 eldx
with varying seating depths and my shotgun gave tighter groups. My 300wm loves Berger 215's with easy load development. So I'm going with what my barrel likes over what I think I'd like it to like🤪

Never been a big Hornady bullet fan. No interest in the eldx, but I've had pretty good luck with the eldm in 6.5.

As others have stated, some barrels are more picky than others, so use what works.

Dont blame bullets. Like stated before each bullet will shoot differently. What was the SD of the load you were trying to shoot? What different seating depths did you try? What primers did you try?

Been a normality for Hornady to sell the same item # and bullets BTO measure different. Check your base to ogive, always.
Pic is of .284 162 eldx's came from same store.

I bought 8 boxes of 212 grn, 30 cal, ELDX's several years ago. Tried a couple different powders, seating depth's, etc., in my 300 RUM. Best group was 1 1/2 moa. Everything else was worse than that. Ended up selling them on Gunbroker for a nice profit....

I have not loaded any bullets for the 300prc. I did EXTENSIVE load development with my 7wsm (over 200 rds) and was about to sell the gun, but out of a miracle some rotumbo came up for sale and I found some unicorn tears about the same time (180 hybrids). Loaded them up and the same gun now shoots sub 1/2moa. It's been great the last 50 rds at the range, dead on every time.

This 300prc I bought shoots the ADG loads at 1/2moa with 215H and H1000. But factory loads from hornady are horrendous. The Applied Ballistics calculator show a very significant increase in velocity and energy down range over the Hybrids. I want this gun to hunt elk past 600 so energy and ACCURACY is paramount. If someone knows a trick I am all ears!

Load development coming soon, I just have no faith in eldx right now.

in loading for my 300wm, the cci200 large rifle primer was the ticket w/ imr 4350 powder. seating depth and primers are two big issues that may help.
