Edge with H-4831

Anybody have any good fortune using H-4831 and 300 SMK's in an Edge?

Popular wisdom says to just buy up a load of H-1000 and go, but I've got a butt load of H-4831.

Is it too fast to dick with?

I don't feel it is a good choice for the big case and heavy bullet. H-1000 or Retumbo would be my choice to start. If you do decide to try it, I would be very careful and start backed way off on the charge as H-4831 is much faster burn than H-1000 and pressure could be a huge issue. Maybe someone could run a test on quick load for you.

Thanks, I realise it's on the "fast" side for the big case, just looking for any experience with it in the Edge. I stock piled it (48 pounds)when I shot the 6.4-284 in my 1K guns, but have since switched to shooting Dashers with Varget instead.
