I am double checking on AA3100. Correct me if I am wrong. AA3100 is an old, discontinued powder by Accurate? Correct? Similar burn characteristics to IMR 4831?
Yes, for over a decade now, IIRC.I am double checking on AA3100. Correct me if I am wrong. AA3100 is an old, discontinued powder by Accurate?
Close enough, but like everything else, YMMV. Half the fun of reloading is experimenting with the powders readily available. Good luck!Similar burn characteristics to IMR 4831?
I would probably give it away if there was someone local that wanted it. I have one can of it. I hate to work up a load with it, load a few, and then not have any more available. I guess I could get approximately 120 rounds loaded.Yes, for over a decade now, IIRC.

I have used H4831 SC with very good results, but that depends on your bullet choice/weight. (7MM RM 180 Berger, .338 WM 225/250 NABs. and .300 WM 190 Berger VLD). If you are using Berger bullets, you can request load recommendations from their Tech Support and use them as your baseline. Then again, IMR 4831 is awful hard to come by lately.
Any idea if generally it performs any better in either the 7MM Remington Magnum, .338 Winchester Magnum, or .300 Winchester Magnum?
That's a great idea. Thanks for suggesting that.If you are using Berger bullets, you can request load recommendations from their Tech Support and use them as your baseline. Good luck!
You're welcome. If you are specifically interested in VV powder loads, you can visit their website or submit a load request, and the same Berger Tech Support Team will respond, as they are part of the Nammo Group. That's a great idea. Thanks for suggesting that.
