Dog in car

The other day I was at Walmart and my dog was with me. I rolled down the windows so that she could get fresh air. As I got out of the truck, I was saying over and over "stay! stay here! Don't follow me!" When she layed down on the seat, I closed my door. I took a couple of steps away and repeated loudly "stay! stay here! wait for me!
A very attractive young woman had just gotten out of her car and was taking all this in. I heard her mutter under her breath "Why in the hell doesn't he just put it in park?"
