Does anyone use a detachable scope mount for their Savage? Seems like it would be a great thing to have when switching barrels. Just detach scope, remove stock, rebarrel, and headspace... then reassemble. I was wondering if anyone uses a detachable mount and if they work well or not? Do they hold zero well? Would you use it on a competition gun? Right now I am using Talley bases and rings which hold great but rebarreling would be a pain trying to get the cross hairs realigned and the correct eye relief. What do ya think?
