I am kind of partial to .408 at the moment.

I use mine all the time. I need to upgrade to the newer A2 to get the weight down. Love the DT. If you're not having to lug the older ones all around I love it.

I've been a fan of the 408 for a long time the 416 is a close second .

For the 408 I am looking at creating a load with RL25 as my supply of Retumbo starts to deplete.

My .375 barrel kit seems to be defective, not enough free bore space, but I was going to start load development with 375 grain bullets and either RL50 or H50BMG since I have more of that then I know what to do with.

What is your load for 416?

Look at the cutting edge 420 grain bullets with RL50 178.0 grains , single feed .

I had a guy machine my chassis similar to the a2 and it removed a pound , but a traditional rifle is still quite a bit lighter just not as compact
