Can someone tell me the difference in the 4 models of Defiance Actions. For the sake of argument, let's say it would be used for a 338 Lapua. Are these just cosmetic differences. http://defiancemachine.com

Rebel

Deviant Tactical

Deviant Hunter

Mutant

Rebel - Rail is secured to receiver with two pins and 8-40 X 1/4″ screws

Deviant Tactical - Rail and receiver are all machined from one piece

Deviant Hunter- Same as Tactical but has weight cut off in the mid section of rail and reciever

Mutant - Made specifically for the Eliseo RTM/ RTS Chassis System

Farmer nailed it:

they build different actions for different applications. The 338 lapua can be built on any of them it just depends on your needed application, needs, weight etc.
the deviant and deviant hunter are a bad *** actions but if weight is a concern you can get a rebel with all of its sheep port cuts they come in a heck of a lot lighter. my personal favorite is the deviant hunter......Ahhhhh who am I kidding, any of there actions are my favorites, and there an awesome company to work with.

Reviving this thread!

Can anyone or multiple people post pics of their Deviant Tactical/Deviant Hunter Actions. Please describe action options (Bolt Knob/Fluting Style/Tang). I have looked at pics on the net, but they don't list those details.

Thanks.

If you are planning a 338 Lapua with a heavy and/or long barrel they also make the Rebel in an XL model with a long tenon and a .750 diameter bolt.

I found their site a little hard to navigate. Did you click on options on their home page? that is where they describe with pics all the options you can order in each action. If thats not enough info I will try to post a pic of my Deviant hunter in 338 lapua for you.

That would be great! Yes I have been all over their site. I'm especially interested in their Deviant Hunter. I just want to see them with different options.

Thanks for the pictures! Do you like the tactical bolt knob? Do you think it's big enough? What stock are you using? I assume it's just a Remington footprint! As far as the action goes, if you could have ordered anything different, what would it have been?

I like it how its . the stock is a manners mcs-ta . I am having a 6.5 creedmore built right now with a deviant hunter action and on that one I went with deeper bolt flutes so they are a bit more noticable and the tear drop bolt handle just to slim things down a bit. Both guns are primarily for hunting .
