Nothing unusual about this shot other than the buck taking off immediately after the doe is hit. Usually the other animals linger and wonder for quite some time, and sometimes doesn't leave the scene before I approach.
I find the poncho and underrated tool for hunting. Waterproof jacket or not, avoiding the drip-drip after the rain and keeping a reasonably warm air pocket around you whilst it rains is gold.
