What is a good quality daypack for truck to stand hunting, but also good for airline travel stow away?

I'll second Kifaru. Take a look at the Door Gunner. Its a great little pack.

2nd for the Kifaru Door gunner. I think the Kifaru guys use it similarly.

As a side note, so far my son and I have flown with full size Kifaru packs as carryon multiple times. Just compress and get straps wrapped up.

Kifaru shape charge is worth a look

Kifaru all day. The 22 mag Gen2 on a 24" frame works well as a day pack. Can also compress very small and airlines won't give you any hassle.

I have a shape charge and use it for this. I like it. My only complaint is the shoulder strap adjustment but this doesn't prevent me from liking and using it.

how far of a walk is it from your truck to stand?

And, if you're going to use it as a carry on please...........get it to fit the airline size guidelines. Don't be one of those people who bring on a carry on the size of a refrigerator and take up a bunch of everyones' time trying to stow it...
