SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR CVA PARAMOUNT MUZZLELOADING RIFLES
Immediate Stop Use Order for CVA Paramount Muzzleloading Rifles
CVA is issuing a safety recall for all Paramount, Paramount HTR, Paramount Pro, and Paramount Pro V2 muzzleloading rifles. This recall pertains to all production years of these models. Owners are required to cease use of all Paramount rifles immediately and, if loaded, safely unload them as instructed in Section 17 of the owner's manual. http://bit.ly/4vyYt6Q
Reason for Recall
An unsafe condition may occur if a Paramount rifle is improperly loaded, including but not limited to:
• Double loading
• Use of incorrect or incompatible powder
• Improper loading, cleaning or storage procedures
• Presence of obstruction
These conditions may create an increased risk of failure, serious injury, or death to the user or bystanders during the initial or subsequent firings.
Instructions for Owners
Immediately discontinue use and refrain from loading or firing, if currently loaded. For detailed instructions regarding the remedy, and to begin the recall process, please visit bpioutdoors.com/paramount-recall/ or contact our customer service team at [email protected]. To speak directly with a customer service representative, please call 770-449-4687, during regular business hours.
We understand this safety recall may be inconvenient, and we sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding. CVA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer support, and we are working to make this process as simple as possible for affected customers.

Seems kinda crazy. Glad I don't have a muzzy tag this year. A little frustrating that the enduro replacement only comes in .45 and here in CO we have to use .50

My exact thoughts and feelings too! I hate to give up my Paramount pro Colorado, I've got a lot invested to make improvements , arrowhead ignition, Trex muzzle break, New England pro peep sight. Rifle shoots amazing!

When those CVA Paramount pros came out, looked very capable. Never owned a CVA product but, saw several on shelves and guys bought e'm. Sadly a few new muzzleloader shooters had never read or barely understood the instructions that came with the rifles. Guys, that had not a clue, on weight vs volume difference of powders buying them and thinkN hey she's a 1/4 mile deer rig, this thing's pretty much, NukPruff !! Then ur Blackhorn 209 powder became super rare N scarce overnight, traded for upwards of $300 for a frikN ten ounce jug. Heard bad advice on substitution solutions, of she'll take smokeless, no trouble, ahhh probably frikN Not!! No wonder CVA boys were headed for troubles, all the working pressure of an honest ta god Weatherby, N Joe Smuckatelly, subN powders with load up work, out there in the timber

Any of these problems could be had with any muzzleloader. These conditions could occur with modern breech loading rifles.
Could this be the camel's nose under the tent?

I will be selling whatever Bergara rifle I get and buying the new Weatherby .50 cal in-line muzzleloader , I use my smoker at least every other year as some tags are still better and easier to draw where I hunt.
Anyone want to trade for weatherby muzzleloader for a premium bergara model let me know. Not in a hurry but hopefully get something worked out by this time next year.

Not a bad idea… I like your style 😁

If you have the ability to follow directions you will not have a problem.
Poor reloading practices can be bad too.
Savage had a muzzleloader that could use smokeless powder and they stopped selling it. Hmm, wonder why?

The paramount line was BH209 or black powder substitute only . They were sold with direction for BH209 only.
There replacement the endura is BH209 or smokeless rated .

This recall makes it sound like you won't be getting them back (if you send them in) b/c as others noted, the issues appear to be user error. And by returning them, you are admitting to be a bad operator :)

I suggest continuing to use them PROPERLY, and you will likely be just fine.
