Well, my wife doesn't think that this is near as cool as I do, so I thought I would share it with you guys since many of you helped me make the decisions to build this rifle. Specs:

SS Model 700 Action Trued by Dan Dowling
SS Sendero Contour 27" Lilja 8 Twist Fluted & Throated for 140 Vld's
Black w/ Grey Web Greybull Precision Stock
Dan also tuned the factory trigger down to a very crisp 2.5# pull
Leupold VXIII 6.5 - 20 x 50 30mm Long Range Target in Talley one Piece Rings

During Barrel break in I shot ladder tests with retumbo and h1000. Retumbo gave a 4 shot group of 0.71" over 1.2 grains of powder. And, H1000 gave a 4 shot group of 0.66 over 1.4 grains. I still have some testing to do but am pleased so far.

Good looking rifle.
But I have a question how does 1.4 grains of powder get the bullet out of the barrel? my 264 uses 71.0 grains of RL 22.

I shot 10 rounds charged with retumbo and 10 rounds charged with h1000. From slightly above minimum to max (according to Berger). So, the retumbo ladder each shot varied .3 grains (4 shots would be 4 shots at different charge weights - 4 x .3 = 1.2). And, the h1000 ladder - each shot varied .4 grains (4 shots x .4 grains = 1.6 grains).

I meant a 4 shot group, with varying charge weights, at 0.3 or 0.4 grain increments.

Does that make sense?

No, I'm in southeastern oregon. A neighbor of mine has had several rifles built by Dan and suggested him to me.
