We are proud to bring to market our line of Curtis Custom bottom metal.

Our detachable bottom metal shares the same footprint as the M5, accepts AI and AW mags, is made of 6061 Aircraft grade aluminum, is hard coat anodized, has an ambidextrous release latch, and comes with machined pillars that are finished "long" to accommodate different receiver styles. Grade 5 screws are included.

At the moment the only version in stock is the short action... However, long action is in production... And coming soon will be our proprietary Lapua and 408 bottom metal and mags.

Short action bottom metal can be viewed and purchased from our website,

Home - Curtis Custom

Available within the next month will be our 3 round magazines. These mags will fit our bottom metal, and any detachable bottom metal designed to utilize the AI/AW mags. They will give the user the versatility of using a magazine that is flush with the bottom of the stock while in a hunting environment. They are also made with aircraft grade aluminum, and hard coat anodized as well.

To answers everyone's next question... Our "VECTOR" actions are in production and we hopefully will be taking pre orders soon. We are not only coming out with our "VECTOR" line of actions, but also a completely different line as well... The "AXIOM" will be our second line of receivers geared more towards the shooter that is looking for a custom action without all the bells and whistles.

The "AXIOM" will feature:

Remington footprint
416 SS
3 lug bolt
M16 extractor
Side bolt release
Recoil lug included (not integrated)
20moa rail included (not integrated)
Smooth bolt/no flutes

And all at a price around $750!

Same quality as the "VECTOR" just without the integration and face lifts... and at a more affordable price.

We will be updating the site with our mags and actions as they become available. Bottom metal is in stock now.

She's a beauty!!!

Congrats on your project - given the likely high level of precision and reasonable price-point, you've got an absolute winner!!!

I hope the Lapua-sized receiver comes in around the same.

Re: CURTIS/RUSSO Bottom Metal and Mags

Are you going to make a 3 round mag for 338 lapua?

Re: CURTIS/RUSSO Bottom Metal and Mags

Very much like the flush mag, absolutely HATE mags hanging down, dig the mag release in the trigger guard! What's the price point?

Yes

We don't like mags that hang down either, that's what motivated us to design the 3 round.. $270 for the bottom metal.

Joel, Curtis,

Is it not correct that an action such as your's can be used in the build of a speciality pistol?

I still have it Roy.. Would make a fine Christmas present to yourself.
Can't remember the "deal" but it still stands if you remember it..LOL

Re: CURTIS/RUSSO Bottom Metal and Mags

These look great. I can't help but notice the similarities between your BM and APA's RTG bottom metal. Are there any improvements to speak of?

Also what will the price be for the 3-round mags? What is the max COL for the mags? Are there separate mags for the different cartridge diam (.308 vs. SAUM for example) Really excited to see this product, btw.

Re: CURTIS/RUSSO Bottom Metal and Mags

Our bottom metal shares the same footprint as all the others that are designed to accept AI/AW mags. We have made a few changes that we feel makes ours more user friendly to the operator.
We will be offering mags for the short mag cartridges as well as the Lapua, and .408, but right now, we're in production with the .308. COL for the .308 is the same as the AI at 2.850". .308 mag is $80.
