Those guys do work at an extremely high risk on a daily basis.
Although those newer aircraft are better than the older ones, there is still the risk of engine failure, bird strike or an occasional pine tree branch or power line that is invisible from the air.
Those Air Tractor 603 and 803's work at about 140 mph diving in and out with their wheels about 10-20 feet off the ground pulling G forces that only experienced pilots can comprehend.
You just have to respect the guys who are willing to do it every day for us farmers who need the application on a timely basis.

Our Co-op owns 2 of the 802-A air tractors, and we could not grow crops profitably locally without them. They take care of a lot of grain crops and cotton also. Soybeans, wheat, rice, corn and grain sorghum.
each runs about 500-600 hours tach time per year.
not a job for the faint of heart.
