Here's a coyote I took at 300yds with my Howa 6.5 Creedmoor & 140 gr Berger VLD hunting rounds.
I loaded these for deer hunting but they are so long I can barely load them in internal mag so I'm single loading them for coyotes at distance. Blatant Vortex endorsement, Ha-ha.

I have never had any luck with Bergers in the 6.5 on coyotes. Non of them have been at any distance. I do shoot them with the 6 Bergers and they work great but the 130's pencil right through. You did great. Congrats nice coyote. I wish the 6.5's worked for me. I love that rifle, the .17 is hard to leave in the truck though!

Nice looking setup and a good coyote!! What model vortex and howa??
It's a Vortex HS 4x16x50. Howa is the multicam 6.5 creedmoor with 24" heavy barrel. first ever Howa and definitely not my last, very solid & accurate rifle. this stock is VERY good & stiff compared to the other Howa stocks I've seen I actually have another stock just like it & will be ordering a barreled action to put in it.

What kind of accuracy are you achieving with your Howa? What 6 Berger works best?
I get great accuracy from every 135-140 bullet I've loaded for it. I use the Berger 140 VLD hunting single feed because of length it likes & discovered the 135 gr Berger classic hunters shoot excellent without being so long to fit in mag well.

I normally don't shoot 6.5 for coyotes but I've got a piece of public land where I missed a huge male coyote & keep going back to get him, he appeared once at 500 yards when I had .223 & didn't stay long & went back 2 more times so far and called 2 of his ladies in, hopefully he comes in next time because he's the biggest coyote I've seen in a long time.

Nice one. what scope did you have mounted on that rifle
That is a Vortex 4x16x50 HS. love the scope for hunting. I bought a pretty new Browning carbon fiber .338 win mag from a friend who owns a pawn shop that had this scope mounted for $900 & all I wanted was scope for a 6.5 hunting rifle so I sold .338 rifle for $700 and kept scope so it actually cost me $200 for scope.

i guess preparation added to great rifle and accessories equals good result, congrats.

Shot two this year. One at 65 yards and the other at 215 yards. Both with a 6.5 creedmoor and 140 berger EOL hybrid hunting bullets. Worked great. Golf ball size hole coming out.
