I'm a flatlander from Minnesota.
We are going out to bow hunt elk the first week of archery season. August 29th
I have hunted their during the rifle season but haven't been out there when it's been warm. We hunt about a half hour east of Grand Junction and about another half hour south. Grand Mesa area.
Anyhow my question is are we going to have to be dealing with bugs. Flys, Mosquitos, deer flys, ticks...

Here in Australia the flys are worse than In any other place in the world and you get to learn a few tricks to avoid them.
1. Don't were bright coloured cloths. Insects are attracted to bright colours because they think your a giant flower, believe it or not!
2. Stay out of the sun. Insects are like reptiles, they need the need external heat to warm there blood so if you stay in the shadows, the might not go after you
3. Lick your wounds. The enzymes in your saliva can break down some toxins that insects use.
As for whether there will be bugs in Minnesota, I haven't got a clue, I live on the other side of the world!
Hope it helps and good luck:)
