Yes it can be done

For the Gunsmiths:
I have a Remington barrel threaded 1.0625"x16tpi and wondering if it's just a recut to achieve 1"x16tpi of the Winchester persuasion?

The answer is yes it can be done, I don't want to say its easy, however its really not difficult for a competent metal smith, ive done it many times on both Winchester and ruger,

Thank you for the offer! The the chance to buy the barrel has passed but information is always gold! I see so much Remington oriented stuff for sale (a brand I don't favor) that it becomes necessary to find solutions for modifying them for use otherwise.
