So to update this, old heavy brass lasted a long time. At least 7 firings, new brass loses primer pockets in 3-4 firings. Shooting h1000 with 133 bergers at 3140fps.

so apparently weatherby has 3 suppliers of their brass, via the ron spomer interview with adam weatherby 30:50
so who knows but i would say its just the variance from one supplier to another.
