With a freebore of .119 would the Berger 184gr F-Open 7mm work good? 7-08AI Or would a 140-160gr be better in this cartridge? 1000yds

Seems like you are more specifically asking a question relative to the reamer cut, and resulting freebore, but would seem like the 184s could pose some twist rate issues as well as reduced velocity from the amount you'd have to shove that bullet into the case.

The 7-08 DOESN'T have, the H P necessary for 184's,.. IMHO
I'd be Trying,.. the 150 gr. ELD-X's or, 162- X's or, 168 gr. H-VLD's / Classic Bergers to, see which shoots "Best" with, YOUR Twist.

That's what I'm thinking, those 184s probably made for 284 Win

if they can shoot the 200.20x or the 208 hyb. in a 308 you can shoot the 184 in a 7-08. but you will need .240ish. on the freebore with a 3.1 oal. and a 28"-30" barrel and with powders like RL-16 the 2750fps +/- use a 1-8 twist for better stability it will be very effective on targets to 1000yds and 800 yds on game. it all depends on your use and build specs.
