Bull Elk at 425 Yards with a 7mm-08

Congrats and thanks for the story. Daddy here wants a 22" 7mm-08!
I experienced the same thing with the 300WSM 175gn Berger VLD I hit my cow with, exactly as she did...very small entrance, blew out both lungs and zero exit wound!

Congrats All Around!
Long after we are gone, she will remember you for the time you spent with her.

The 7-08 was very popular when I was young in the silhouette crowd. It seemed to be a good balance between accuracy, efficiency, and enough power to knock down the ram plates at 600 yards. Many selected it for the mild recoil. It still makes a great choice.

What? Everybody knows you have to have a 338,000.06 magnum to kill an elk!
Congrats for a fine shot and trophy.

sorry for the double post! Still, great story!
