Bore guide and stocks with high combs

I have used Mike Lucas' bore guides for a while now and ordered one for my 6.5 PRC with AGC adjustable hunter stock. When I went to clean it the first time it would fit because of the high comb. Even if I got it to fit the cleaning rod would not go straight through the guide because the comb interferes with the cleaning rod as well. Yes, part of the comb comes off, but what remains still interferes with the cleaning rod.

How have other folks worked around high combs when trying to clean their rifles?

Just the rod portion hits on top of the comb? or you're handle and hand don't fit over it the high portion?

The rod itself cannot go straight back and strait forward into the barrel bc of the high comb.

I've had the same issue. Interested to see if anyone has an easy solution.

Maybe try a really long carbon fiber cleaning rod.

Don't forget they flex more the longer they are.
make sure you get the largest diameter you can accommodate.

Take it out of the stock, if your really worried about it.
