Just became the owner of CVA Scout in 300 blk. Want to shoot suppressed subsonic. Any advice, load data ,bullets, etc. Looking at hammer shock hammers at about100 grains. Would this open up at that speed. Shots no longer than100 yards in thick woods. any help at all is welcome!

What is you barrel twist ? Most shoot the 200+ grain bullets subsonic and you need a bullet designed to expand at that velocity. Lehigh Defense has bullets for this and load data to go along with it. I like the .30 cal 194 grain

Its got the twist for them. I've looked at Leigh defense. They have some the work down to 12 , 13 hundred. May have to stick with the big boys. Or give up on bunny farts suppressed.

Maker bullets is another option for suppressed subsonic hunting. Hornady 190 gr subx as well.

For plinking, my AR does well with 220 gr Nosler custom comps and 8.6 gr of N110. Very quiet with my TBAC 338 Ultra.

You used the SMK on critters

@QuietTexan yiu don't load any uppers in the 110 range?
Do you mean supers in 110gn bullet weights? No I don't, my 300 BLK bolt rig is set up specialized for nighttime shooting. I have a 30-30 that doesn't have 8# of IR-NV stacked on top of it for supers. 🤣

Negative, but the 220s would probably tumble pretty good. Makers is the preferred hunting bullet by far, but proving the rifle can shoot small groups is a part of knowing what it can do, and the 220 SMK is a very accurate bullet in my rifle.

What twist is your barrel? I'm thinking of going with a 16" 300 BLK barrel for my TL3 and can't decide on a 1:7 or 1:8. I'm thinking primarily subsonic use, so leaning 1:7...

What twist is your barrel?
All of mine at 7s, never seen a downside to it. 8s will shoot a lot of things fine (like 200gn Makers), but just like Wedgy said seems like with monos making big strides twists keep getting faster and faster to run them.

My 8.6 BLK barrels are 3 twists, going to run 350gn monos out them.
