Best scope for long range under $1200

I'm getting another custom rifle built and I need some good glass. It's a 338 rum so the glass has to be tough. I plan on shooting out to 1000 yds and maybe a mile if I decide to get crazy. What do y'all think would best suit my needs? I'm not partial to any brands.!just has to be tough.
