best \'big\' 30 cal

Hi, just found this forum a couple of days ago and i think i am already hooked!

anyways, i have been looking to add a 'big' 300 to my stock. so far i have been leaning towards the 300 RUM. What rifle would you guys recommend? -OR- if there is a different caliber you would suggest what rifle then?

sorta kinda need to know what ya have in your "stock"

300 wm is a good one to 1200 ish
300RUM bit more maybe 1500ish
30 Wolf 2000 yards with the 240's
if ya really wanna get out there.. 338 Lapua


hard to get real good accuracy from a stock rifle to shoot 1K I would suggest getting a custom stick worked up for long range work...

i've got a couple 30-06's, a 30-30, a .243win all hunting rifles...looking to get into some long shots in the field, and also on the range. i have had tons of fun and good luck with my 30-06 but now am looking for something with a little more range. i would like to find something that i can use for my regular big game hunting for everything from deer to bear.
