I was lucky to be chosen to beta test these new bullets before they reach the marketplace. Anyone have experience with 338 win mag loading for berger hybrid bullets? Bullet 250 gr hybrid OTM is 1.6285" G7 is 0.349 and G1 is 0.682. I'm using winchester new brass and CCI 250M primers. Rifle is an accurized Mauser with 26" match McGowen barrel. Doing a ladder test and bullet seating depth tests. Powders on hand IMR 4064, IMR 4350, Reloder 17, and H4831sc. Thanks, Steve

I have no experience with them, but am interested. I for one would love to here the results of your testing. Wish I could help and hope someone can.

Sweet, really interested in how imr4350 does. I also hear rl19 is a good powder in the heavier bullets in the 338wm. Bet imr4350 and h4831 do well. Please keep us updated, looking forward to the info.
Thanks

I am testing them also in a 338 Ultra mag. I started out .050 off the lands because that is where my 225 TTSX's shot 5/8 inch at 300 yds. So far my best group is 3 shots in 1 inch at 300 yds. with 90 gr IMR 7828 and fed mag primers at 3015 fps. I talked with Michelle G. today to try and find a starting point for seating depth because these are different than the VLD's. And if I do a bunch of seating depth's I will not have enough bullets to test these out at farther distances. She said she would talk to Eric and find out where they were seating the 300 gr hybrids and get back to me. I will let you know what she said.
When I tested these on monday the wind was blowing from 6 to 10 mph and these bullets were shooting good. If I can get these to shoot better than they WILL be my go to bullet for long range hunting.
I will post my loads and results after I shoot my next test loads.

If you got 1'' at 300 you are doing good. That is 1/3 moa and they usually hold at distance. I have got 1'' at 400 w/300 otm, but is usually closer to 2+, that is at .005 off, and those rounds are within .002-3 consentric.I also fed 215, but would like to try match primer.

any new info? just loaded some 250's up for my 338 win mag but havnt had a chance to shoot them yet. loaded with h-4350. if a guy could get these going 2700-2800fps it would make a 338 win mag one heck of a long range rig. another great fact of the win mag is it is burning a lot less powder than say lapua or RUM but is surprisingly close in speed. less powder also means shorter barrels, mine is 21". makes for a nice short hunting hammer

I have not tried the 250,s yet ,but I did try the 300,s just for the fun of it.I used 60 grains of win 760 with Remingtom brass and fed 215 primers .I had them 10 ths off the lands. They were shot out of a 700 Remington with a 24 inch barrel.I hope your 250,s shoot as good as the 300,s do..They have to shoot flatter.

A little off topic but ... I just tried the 250 Elite Hunter in my 338 RUM. Loaded .020" off the rifling the results were mediocre. Just for the hell of it I decided to load the bullet to magazine length which was .215" off the rifling. Yup, nearly 1/4" off.
Using Rem cases, a Fed 215M primer and 94.0 of H1000 produced a .48" 3 shot group at 300 yds. A 4th shot opened the group to 1.31". Unbelievable!
