Just wondering if anyone is loading the 208LRHT in any 30 calibers like anything from 308 to a 300Rum and what are their thoughts. Picky to tune, easy to tune, consistent expansion of using for hunting, etc., etc,
I loaded the 208LRHT in a 300wsm with a Shilen barrel. I found it easy to group at .040" jump to the lands. Didnt play with other seating depths since I got 1\2moa at 40off
Good luck

I have just started working with them, but they seem great in my 300 win mag. Sako s20 that is a new rifle I am loading for. 1 pic below is a break in load that I slapped together for the rifle. The other is a load I am tuning for the rifle. Very easy to work with so far.
Looking at the BC and being a little lighter than the 212 ELDX and probably less bearing surface I'm thinking they would shoot a little faster than the 212grn that I run in my 308 Win. Not to mention that they are probably more consistent also. I run the 212 at 2470. Probably could hit 2500fps with the 208's. I was also looking at the 220's for my Rum. I know the 208 are pretty heavy for a 308 but when looking at down range energy, etc, etc, etc they look really good on paper. This is also what pushed me to the 212 and I was not having the best luck with some lighter bullets but I was also chasing the speed game and my loads were good today and bad the next loading. I loaded some 212 at a less then max and they dialed in with the first loading that I was able to repeat and head sub MOA out to 600yrds. I've loaded lots of bergers in the past and could go from box to box with out having to tweak the load ever so slightly. Not so much with the 195ELDM's but I was also chasing max velocity. So now that hunting season is over I and I'm almost out of the 212's I thought about the 208's. I have some 210VLD also that I can try but really looking hard at those 208's and possible the 200.20x. I just dont know how these would do on game.
