I did try. It all squished out.
Thanks everyone. Keep it coming. I will certainly try to improve on this job by removing material from behind the lug. By next week I'll be taking orders for bedding jobs. LMAO!

I figured it all squished out. Next time you will need to remove some of the wood from the stock so there is room for the bedding material.

I use a .702-.703" action truing mandrel in the bolt race Way and pull it strait up. I never hit them with a rubber mallet.

Makes it a lot easier to pulls them out of the bedding with even pressure on the barrel and tang pulling strait up
