Barreling question

I've spotted a Douglas #3 med.sporter barrel for my weatherby vanguard in .308.The question is can there be material taken out of the Bell&Carlson gold medalist for #2 weatherby contour for the other barrel without sacrificing any accuracy and such.Any tech. help will be appreciated.
