Barrel taper reduction?

I have an existing Bartlein barrel is 6mm Dasher, 26 inches long with a Vais muzzlebrake that measures .960 at the muzzle. I have purchased a Tikka Model 59 and want to rebarrel that rifle with this Bartlein barrel. The present barrel measures .950 at the muzzle.. As you may know, Finnish rifles have sleek, svelte stocks and I am afraid that enlargening that stock to accommodate this Bartlein barrel would result in a " pecan thin" forestock. Therefore, I would like your insights as to how difficult it would be to reduce the diameter of my Bartlein barrel by .005? Would it be possible to taper it in the forestock area and make a slightly different taper to the muzzle? This barrel was excellent, which is why I am adapting this rifle to use that barrel.
Along this line has anyone else used a Model 55 chambered in 6mm Dasher and did you experience any problems from feeding with that extremely rare, expensive clip?
