German WW2 artillery rangefinder made by Barr & Stroud of Glasgow, Scotland. Made in 1936, range is displayed in meters but is easily converted to yards by adding 10%. Readings from 250-20,000 meters (275 yards to over 12 miles). Can be used handheld but is better suited for tripod use. In very good condition considering its age and the fact it made it through a war. Body is leather wrapped but shows some deterioration of the leather as could be expected. Leather end caps for the objective lens, leather sling, rubber end caps all good shape. None of the screws that hold it together appear to ever been removed, there is no sign that that it has ever been disassembled or tinkered with. Accuracy has been tested out to 1000 yards and is dead on, no reason to expect it not be accurate beyond that, just have not tried it farther.Paid $1100 for it in early 90's would like to have that for it but because of age and failing eye sight will consider any reasonable offer.
