Are the BC's listed for the Barnes LRX bullets lower than what they should be.

The 280 LRX is listed as .667, and 1.864" long

In comparison, a 275 grain cutting edge is listed as .826, nearly the same length, 1.863"

Hmmm, interesting. I knew it was much more involved than the length. I compared the cutting edge to the barnes because they were similar. Similar length, both solid bullets, etc. Just surprised to see such a difference.

Sectional density is not the culprit in this case. The LRX is heavier than the CEB, so it has the higher sd. The LRX is just of a much more conventional design and thus has a much higher form factor. This means it is less sleek and just has more drag. Sectional density is a function of mass and diameter. Sectional density doesn't care wether a bullet is made from lead, tungsten or a copper alloy.
