Need to know what the 300 yard energy would be for two bullets - the 190 Sierra Matchking out of a .300 Win. Mag at 2950 fps muzzle velocity
and the same 300 yard energy from a 168 or 175 Sierra MatchKing out of a .308 Win at 2650 muzzle velocity

My first post, had to quit lurking sooner or later.

According to my Sierra loading manual 3rd edition.
The 300mag would be about 2584 foot pounds.
The 168 is 1869 foot pounds.
175 is not in this edition, 180 is though.
180 is 1843 foot pounds.

The figures are + or - 10lbs as I had to work the numbers out from between what is preprinted.

Thanks for the info, appreciate your help - all of my reloading manuals are burried right now (long story, has something to do with my wife re-organizing my office...).

Welcome to this site, interested to hear a bit about your shooting.

My pleasure to help.

All my success to date have been short range, less than 350yds.
That will change this year & everybody will hear about it.
