Does anyone here have 1 or more? I've been thinking about 1 in 300wm and the possibility of rebarreling (possibly same cartridge, but maybe another)? Looking for options on where and how to? Any pics would be nice as Browning's site isn't much help in that department.

Also thinking of the 308win and rebarreling it also to 22-250, a 26cal of some sort or maybe 338fed.

Yes.
Couple of things I think are important are have you handled one to check fit? And most importantly, are you the type of person who will get the gun serviced or cleaned by a GS every other year?? If not you will have a misfire when it matters most! I'd look for a Belgian made one but I'm not a fan of the ergonomics of the new ones.

I can't weight in on rebarreling but don't see why not. Guys do plenty of crazy projects so go for it!

I've never seen 1 in person, just on their website. I know 0 about BAR'S! I have 1 Browning and it's a BLR in 270win. The rifle is so smooth and runs flawless. Less than 100 rounds in it so far.

My cousin has his fathers in 338WM. I hear it recoils pretty good. I believe it is from the early 70's.

I have one in 308 . Great gun. It is gas operated so barrel replacement options may be limited.
I think they were originally offered in popular calibers from 243 up to 338WM .
It was my favorite in the timber when we hunted whitetail with hounds. Have a 1.5-6 S&B on top.

Can you take pics of the chamber and bolt so I can s what it looks like? Thanks!

I have one in 300 Win Mag from the late 1980's. I can't help on rebarreling as mine is the same as when I bought it and I've killed hundreds of deer and pigs with it.

Your magazine is going to absolutely limit you to SAAMI length cartridges and as another poster mentioned, recoil is stiff.

What I do not agree with is the poster that mentioned having the gun serviced every other year. I've never had mine to the gunsmith for service and 34 years later and hundreds if not thousands of rounds later it still functions flawlessly.

I could not agree more on the cleaning regimen. I have never owned one myself but have serviced/cleaned numerous ones for friends over the years after they would have misfires. Most of the time they were gummed up with all sorts of stuff.

I owned a BAR in 7RM for 25 years. I never sent it to a GS for cleaning. It was a beautiful and reasonably accurate rifle (1" MOA). I also never had a misfire. I'm still beating myself up for selling this rifle. Although I sold it for more than I paid for it new to a GS that thoroughly inspected it.
