Took the stock off my A-Bolt to see why I couldn't slide smokers of paper down the barrel between the stock. Turned out to be the sling swivel stud had pushed some plastic from the stock up against the barrel. Easy fix.

Turns out the factory bedding is about the size of a large wad of bubble gum and basically only encompasses the recoil lug area.

Would there be any benefit to installing pillars and bedding the action/stock?

Inwould think there might be.

Based on your comment I assUme that you have a plastic stock.

If so, don't waste your time bedding it. Save your money, buy a Bell & Carlson or a laminated thumbhole from Stocky's and then bed it properly.

I see. I kinda figured you might say something like that.

I had noticed that this rifle is the softest recoiling 7 RM I've owned (5th one). I figured the stock was flexing...
