Athalon cronus btr gen2 4.5-27x

Never had a Steiner so I can't give an opinion on them. I do have a Burris XTRII in a 3-15 and an XTRII in 5-25. The 3-15 is clear as a bell. The 5-25 seems great one day and not the next. So, I bought a used Cronus BTR a while back to try...everyone seems to feel it's a toss up between it and the Vortex Razor. Really like it. Enough so that I ordered a new Gen II from Cameralands sale this last weekend. I figure on replacing the Burris 5-25 with it.

I really like my cronus g2. It's a bit lighter than the Razor but the cronus is still 36 ounces. While 36 ounces isn't bad compared to similar scopes, it's still heavy. I've got a sightron siii 6-24x50 @ 24 ounces that's going on my next hunting rig. Great glass on it but it's not a cronus, however I don't think it's going to be an issue in the field and It's 12 ounces lighter.

I have one and it is a GOOD scope.
IME with glass, you get what you pay for.
A fancy big game hunt costs a lot more than a Schmidt/Swaro/Zeiss/Nightforce so why go cheap ?
