Got 6a general cow for myself, my buddy, and another buddies wife on our app. My dad got hit for a 6a tag also so probably muzzleloader. Another buddy got 5 or 6a muzzleloader and my buddy Doug's two boys got 6a archery tags.

Any units that are good for just a few points as a non-resident. I like to hunt and kill. I don't give a **** about size. My goal is to kill an elk in as many states as possible and devour their meat. I went point only for this year, probably going Wyoming next year, so by the time I actually apply, maybe 3-4 points.

The first thing to know about AZ draw is to never ever put in for points only. There are random tags in every unit. Always have your name in the hat, even if it's for a premium tag that you likely won't get. Any of the late rifle hunts in units 4-8 are "low point" and are more so opportunity hunts. They should take 5-10 points as a NR

Thanks. I put in for points only because I have to plan out hunts each year. I want to know for sure I am going to get something. That's what I like about some colorado units and the Montana combo.

Is there still some general areas worth hunting on the Combo license? I usually get the heavily discounted (For Montana) refund once I get passed over for an elk or mule draw. That's a tough refund.

Montana is over hunted. There are still some decent areas and you might get lucky but a lot like other mismanaged states, the best hunting is in the limited draw areas, private land, or back in the steeps and deeps

Depends on what you are looking for. I am just going to get out in the wilderness and fill my freezer. If you looking for something to hang on the wall probably not. I just want somewhere to go every year. And Montana is basically an every other year type draw with the general combo tags.
