Do you know how to make DIY hog baits? My friends are going for a pig hunting trip next month and they tag me along. Thought i might become useful if i make them hog baits.

Thanks in advance!

morning, we bait hogs in TX, Okla. if possible hunt on clear night with
full moon. pick ur shots. use red and green lights. THK. U

I put corn in a 5 gallon water cooler jug and let it sit in the sun for a while. Worked well for me. It got to be a pain to keep up after a while, so I would use soured corn to get them used to a spot, then just put out regular corn out after that.

I have made a bait out of a large piece of pvc that works very well. Take a piece of pvc, 6", 10" what ever you can find and put a screw on cap on one end and a solid cap on the other. Put a 6" chain with a large ring on the solid cap end. Drill holes just big enough for the corn to fall through when rolled if the corn is turned just right. Drive a t-post or pipe to put the ring over to allow the pvc to roll in a circle around the post. hogs will spend hours rolling and rooting the pvc around the get the corn out

morning, we raised hogs on the farm I grew up. hogs will eat anything!! we soured corn in 5gal. buckets. first then we went to straight corn. then we mixed both. hogs love
corn and anything that is soured and stinks. apples pears peanuts, fruit in general. leftovers garbage from eateries. dead animals, just anything that smells good to a
hog. straight corn works best without the stink. the hogs r very hard on young fawns, calves, young wild life here in TX. shoot, shoot shoot. very good table faire.
