AR-15 build advice

My experience with the Grendel is it doesn't produce the velocity everyone claims with the 120-123 grain bullets therefor the BC means less...

Using 5R barrels for both, at 18" the Grendel is 200 FPS slower than the 6.8

On a truck gun with a short barrel and a practical range of 400 yards on the 400-500 pound behemoths we kill the Grendel is a distant 2nd. That's my real world experience

Look at AVatar, says it all. Thousands of dead hogs later, my experience has shown that 6.8spc out of 16-18" barrel is most effective caliber for hogs in AR15 platform. I have used every configuaration from 6/45 to 7.62/39, just not any of straight walled cases due to longer ranges and cant afford shoot thrus, too many cattle. Now, if most killing occurs inside of 100yds, I would consider one of the larger calibers. I hunt open pastures so most shots are 75-450 yds.
